Breeders' Cup has expanded its nomination programs around the world with the International Stallion Nomination program.

All stallions standing outside North America now have the opportunity to nominate directly to the Breeders’ Cup and receive automatic eligibility for all their progeny to the Breeders’ Cup World Championships and the worldwide Breeders’ Cup Challenge series.

This program requires that Northern Hemisphere stallions pay a nomination fee equal to 50% of their published stud fee or a fee equal to 25% for Southern Hemisphere stallions. In return for this nomination fee, Breeders’ Cup will grant full Breeders’ Cup eligibility to the entire crop sired by those nominated stallions. (There is a minimum stallion nomination fee of US$1,000.00). Stallions that stand dual hemispheres will be required to pay the appropriate nomination fee for each hemisphere. Stallions are nominated annually and the resulting foal crop will then receive automatic eligibility status.
Stallions are now accepted from around the world including Europe, Asia, Australia, South Africa, Central and South America into the Breeders’ Cup program and can experience all the benefits of the Breeders’ Cup.

This global program will increase the number of international foals eligible to the Breeders’ Cup from the current 1,200 nominated annually to over 20,000 each year.

These international Breeders’ Cup sired foals will experience all the benefits of being nominated without having to pay a foal fee. They will receive full eligibility to the newly redesigned Breeders’ Cup Challenge “Win and You’re In” Series. In 2018, any horse that wins a Challenge races will have its entry fees paid and will receive an automatic starting berth when they run in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships which offers $28 Million in purses and awards each year. That’s over $30 Million in Purses and Awards available for Breeders’ Cup nominated horses each year.

Nominations are now open for the International program and may be done online through this website.
